PROGRESSIVE
They consist of different stages or steps. Each die modifies the material in a specific sequence established by the designer to obtain a piece (or some finished pieces) at the end. The progressive dies carry out different operations simultaneously on one single sequence. In such a way that with each strike one or more finished pieces can be obtained. Ideal for high volume production.

TANDEM
They consist of simple die sets that obtain a finished piece in a row. The total of dies may be established according to the steps required and the piece’s complexity.
They are characterized by a single operation in each stroke/punch of the press; thus, if the part needs more than one operation, several dies are required to finish it. Every change should be carried out manually.
SIMPLE/TRANSFER
They are low-complex and can carry out only one operation.
